One Card, Two Ways

Did you choose your favorite card from yesterday?  Well I have another set of cards for you to choose between.  I'm so torn on these two though.  I LOVE them both!!!  I saw this card on Pintrest and made my own version of it.  I love the colors of them both!!!  I hope you're not tired of seeing Work Of Art stamp set.  I know it's EVERYWHERE in blogland :)   Let's get to the details of the cards.
First is the Sahara Sand and Blackberry Bliss card.  I'm not sure why I don't pull out Sahara Sand more I LOVE IT!!!  I used the new Moonlight DSP stack for the DSP in the background.  I love our DSP stacks but I think I would love them even more if they were in a 6x6 size.  I love the size now, they're great for cards but I would love to use some of them for other purposes and need them to be slightly wider than 4.5.  SU can you make one in 6x6??  Anyway back to the card.  The flowers are done in the same Sahara Sand and Blackberry Bliss.  I added candy dots to the center of them.  We don't have candy dots for the Blackberry Bliss so I used Rich Razzleberry.  It's not an exact match but it's close.

Then we have the Smoky Slate and Daffodil Delight version.  The DSP used here is the Watercolor Wonder DSP.  I love these two colors together.  This is my favorite color combo with Daffodil Delight, which sometimes is such a bright yellow it's hard to use.  The Smoky Slate dulls it down a little :)  So which is your favorite?

One Card, Three Ways

This card is so much fun!  One of my favorites for sure!!  I've been pulling out my vellum more and more lately.  I love vellum, I always have but it seems I'm grabbing it more and more.  These cards are no exception.  It's the same card but 3 different colors schemes going on.  I'm not sure which is my favorite, I love them all!!!  I did discover something tragic while making this card.  I have a lot of retired embossing powder :(  I ended up using gold (not my first choice), but I'm so glad I did because I love the way this card came out, I would have had a completely different look if I went with the Melon Mambo embossing powder as I originally was going to.
The first card I used Melon Mambo and Blackberry Bliss.  Since the cards are all the same I'll explain a different element on each card.  This one we'll start with the embossing.  Both the white and vellum are embossed, I used the clear embossing powder on the white with the Dictionary Background stamp.  The vellum is stamped is embossed with gold.  Make sure your careful when you emboss on vellum.  Just heat until the powder is melted and glossy, if you go beyond that you risk scorching your vellum, which is easy to do.  Back to the white.  After it's embossed I just used a sponge and sponged on color, in this case Melon Mambo.  I sponged it darker where the vellum would be and gradually go lighter.  I love this look!!!
The next one I used some new In Colors.  This one is Lost Lagoon and Hello Honey.  Let's talk flowers now.  I'm using the new flower punch from the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack (coming in the new 2014-2015 catalog).  Because I used the gold embossing powder I thought this would be a great time to use some gold sequins.  I added them to the center of each flower, but it still didn't look complete so I colored some rhinestones black (I used a black sharpie to get them black) and added them on top of the sequins.  That's exactly what they needed.  After the flowers were added it still needed something so some extra sequins were added "randomly" :)
Finally the last card.  For this one I used Island Indigo and Pink Pirouette.  Last but not least let's talk ribbon!  When you use vellum the challenging part is how to attach the vellum to your project.  For this card I used ribbon to keep the vellum secured.  There's no adhesive at all under the vellum.  I used Melon Mambo and Basic Black Taffeta for the first two cards.  For this one I went with Bakers Twine.  If I didn't use ribbon I would have attached the vellum by hiding glue dots or dimensionals behind the stamped greeting or the flowers.  I hope you liked this card done 3 ways.  Which is your favorite??? I'd love to know, leave me a comment below.

Hooray

This is the cutest birthday set ever!  I'm a little sad it's not in the annual catalog.  I love this set so much!  It's a new photopolymer set.  I'm not a huge fan of the photopolymer sets (not at all really).  But this set was wayyyy to cute pass up, so maybe the photopolymer will grow on me, maybe....
This set, Endless Birthday Wishes, comes with the sweet cake image and the polka dots along with 25 greetings!  I love that beautiful font that the the hooray is written in, my favorite!!!  This card is pretty simple, one you could defiantly mass produce.  I used Crushed Curry, Real Read and Island Indigo.  The yellow splotch behind the cake is from the Work Of Art set (I warned you, you're going to need this set!!!).  I finished it with a few rhinestones to add a little sparkle.

Love It All

If you haven't already started your wishlist for the new catalog I'll start it for you.  Put at the very top Work Of Art Stamp Set.  YOU. NEED. THIS. SET.  I haven't been able to put it down.  I'm loving it so much.  Right under that put Something To Say Stamp Set and of course the coordinating Punch Pack.  YOU. ALSO. NEED. THEM.  If you have those 3 things you can make this card.  Isn't is so cute!!  It's simple and I love it!!!  It's one of my favorite cards EVER!  LOVE. LOVE. LOVE!!!!
The colors I used are straight from the color coach, Calypso Coral, Chocolate Chip and Wild Wasabi.  I saw this card (the second card) on Pintrest and loved it.  I wanted to use candy dots and some bakers twine on the card (two of my all time favorite accessories).  I love them on the hearts :)  This is the first official week of summer break hopefully we'll be off to a pleasant start with minimal yelling and arguing from the kids, because we all know when they're happy and play nicely together that means more stamp time for me ;)

Nap Time

I haven't shared a My Digital Studio page in a while.  I still have my 2013 album to work on, not to mention I haven't started my 2014 album.  I have taken sometime to scrapbook a few pictures from this year though, like this one.  Megan is three, it's not terrible two's it's tortured three's.  We have lots of good moments and fun times but there are those times where one or both of us has a bad day.  The other day we had one, then she took a nap and woke up refreshed and the rest of the day went great.  I wanted to scrapbook this moment to remember that even though some days are bad, sometimes we have our 'moments', they don't last forever.  Sometimes all you need is a good nap :)  These little moments are the moments I love to scrapbook.  Sure the holidays, vacations, and events are fun too but the little moments are the moments we take for granted.  They're the moments that are too often forgotten.  These special moments are the ones I want to remember, they're the moments I want the kids to remember too.

Candy Sliders

Well schools out.  I can't believe it.  We're heading into summer!  Wish me luck!!  I have a couple more teacher gifts today.  There's 4 teachers at Logan's school that help with the drop off in the morning.  They help direct traffic, help the kids out of the cars and keep everyone safe.  So on our last drop off day Logan gave them all little candy bar sliders.
We used full sized candy bars and a piece of Fresh Prints DSP for each one.  The DSP is already the perfect size!!  Wrap the paper around and glue the bottom closed.  Punch a hole in the top through both sides.  Thread ribbon through and then stick your candy bar in.  Push the candy bar down and tie a knot or bow.  The candy bar just slides in and out thanks to the ribbon.  These were easy and quick gifts and who doesn't love chocolate!!!!

On Target

It's teacher appreciation time!  Today is the last day of school for the kids.  I'm not making Logan go to school today, Logan's last day of school was yesterday (today really but I'm not making him go to school).  But I made this cute gift for his teacher.  I love all the glimmer paper used here!!!  Can you guess what might be inside......???
I'll show you in a second what's inside.  I thought I'd give you another look at the glimmer paper. LOVE!!!  For the target I used my circle framelits and cut them out together.  All the circles nest perfectly in each other.
I used my Envelope Punch Board for the whole thing.  Inside is a cute little card that expresses our thanks for all his teacher did this year, and yes a Target gift card.  This one was super cute!!!
The card is pretty simple.  I printed the greeting on my printed then punched it out.  I love them chevrons on this card.  They're from a brand new set call Work Of Art.  It will be available soon!!!  I love those chevrons!!!  The card is a 4x4 card.  Sweet and simple!!  Thanks to all the teachers out there!!!  Another school year done!  Whew!!!

A Small Sneak Peek

Here are the final two cards from my class. The first one uses Label Something. A stamp set that I've had for months but never used. It's a really versatile stamp set. And every image coordinates with a punch! I love layering circles off center. I know that probably drives some people crazy but I love that look. Finally to finish this card we added some butterflies punched out of vellum. The vellum adds a nice look but it's not so overwhelming that it takes over the entire card. This card is super cute!!
Finally the last card my customers made was a bit of a sneak peek. I thought I'd share the new In Colors with them, they're everywhere anyway! This card is super simple but oh so sweet. All 5 in colors are featured here and there's also a new stamp set, new punch and some new DSP. CUTE!!!

Class Cards

Here's the deal with this class. Every year, the last month of the catalog I do a class with retiring stamp sets.  Well this year Stampin' Up! threw me for a loop when they made stamp sets only available while supplies last.  With so many sets already gone I couldn't bear to do a class that featured products that my guests couldn't get anymore.  So a week or so before the class I changed the class to 'Best of the 2013-2014 Catalog'.  Meaning this was a class that focused on sets that were new to the 2013-2014 catalog and didn't retire.  Plus they're some of my favorites :)  The first one we used Chalk Talk.  I know that this has amazing framelits that go perfectly with this set, but I also wanted to show that you could use this set and not the framelits.  Let's face it, not everyone owns the framelits....they should....but some don't, that's ok :) This card was inspired by this card that I saw on Pintrest.  I love the simplicity of it.  I added a little sparkle with some Champagne Glimmer Paper, it's so pretty!!
Second is a set that I didn't initially love, but a few months into the catalog I knew it was a keeper.  Perfect Blend.  I'm not a coffee drinker.  So the greetings don't really appeal to me, but I love the cup AND I know that so many of my customers ARE coffee lovers so I knew this would be a hit with them too.  We stamped the cup three times: once each on Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake and Retro Fresh DSP.  Cut them all out and assemble the cup, it's so so so cute!!!  I have two more cards to share tomorrow!

My Last Class....

...with this catalog anyway :)  I'm so excited to do so many classes with the new 2014-2015 Catalog.  I finally got it spiral bound, normally I do it the day after I receive it but life has been a little extra busy so I haven't had time.  After a couple cliches it's done and I can finally sit down and go through it and mark it all up!  I did have a class over the weekend, it was so much fun as usual.  I always give a little gift to my guests.  This month I made these sweet hexagon boxes.
The idea was CASED from none other than Sam.  Her box is here.  I did modify my box a tiny bit.  Her box is slightly smaller and uses a piece of paper that 5 3/4 x 4.  My box is just a tad bigger and uses a piece of paper that's 6 1/2 x 4 1/2.  WHY???  Because that's the size of paper the Fresh Prints DSP Stack is, and well I'm lazy and didn't want to trim it so I did some math and figured out how I could manage it with the size of the DSP, no trimming :)
Assembly of my box is exactly the same as Sam does it in her video.  I encourage you to watch it :)  Here's my dimensions if you want to make the larger one.  Start with a 6 1/2 x 4 1/2 piece of DSP.  On the long side score at: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 (super easy right!).  On the short side score at: 1 and 3 1/4.  That's it!  I filled my boxes with chocolate and used some ribbon to tie them closed.  The ribbon isn't necessary but it's a cute addition.  By the way I adore the DSP and I'm so so so so so so so sad it's leaving in just a couple weeks :(  If you haven't already picked up a stack or two or seven make sure you do before it's gone.  It's my favorite!!!!

More Blendabilities

I told you I'd be sharing this beautiful Coastal Cabana flower a lot :)  This was actually the first one I did.  When my products all came I ripped the box open immediately (as I do with any SU order that comes to my house).  I dug through and found this flower, my Coastal Cabana Blendabilities Markers.  I did this flower just to 'try' the markers out.  It came out gorgeous so I attached it to a card.
The card is pretty simple, I just added a doily and used my ever faithful Gorgeous Grunge stamp set to add some splatter.  The splatter is done in Hello Honey, it's a beautiful yellow and it actually looks like honey :)  Have a wonderful weekend, I have a class tomorrow so I'll have lots to share next week!

More New Stuff

I've been using new stuff like a mad woman!  This sweet set is a new hostess set from the new catalog.  I loved it so much!!  There's soooo many cute images in this set.  I'm always drawn to the cute little animal sets :)  This tree is so fun too!  It was a little tedious to cut out.....a lot....some of the little branches were hard to get into.  But I really wanted it cut out so I pressed on!  I love the 'sky' in the back.  That's a new stamp from the Work Of Art set.  It's the perfect 'swoosh'.
This blue is one of the new colors, Lost Lagoon.  I'm loving this new satin ribbon!!  It's easy to work with and it's so beautiful in person!!!  You can see in this photo how the tree is 'lifted' with the dimensionals.  I love dimensionals, they're my favorite thing ever!!!  I've said it before but it doesn't hurt to say it again, Stampin' Up! please sell dimensionals in bulk :)  I'd buy them!
Thanks for looking, see you soon!!!!

Paper Pumpkin Meets Mother's Day

Just a quick card today.  I pulled out a few new products for this card.  Can you see them????  The greeting stamp is from the April Paper Pumpkin.  of course I have to wait until after Mother's Day to share the Mother's Day cards.  The DSP is the Watercolor Wonder DSP from the Occasions Catalog.  I'm so sad that we're nearing the end of the Occasions Catalog, I love this paper! So did you find the new products????
First, the flowers are done with a new punch pack.  I'm still not sure if it will replace the Itty Bitty Punch Pack, but this flower is cute!  I also used the new Blackberry Bliss cardstock for the flowers.  The other new item is the chevron stamp.  It's from a new set call Work Of Art.  LOVE!!!!  I stamped it 4 times but only inked it once so the Daffodil Delight is brighter and more concentrated on the bottom and gradually gets lighter.  So pretty!

I'm In Love!

Stampin' Up! has this super amazing, brilliant, wonderful new product in the new catalog, Blendabilities Markers.  THEY. ARE. FABULOUS!!!!  OH. MY. GRAVY!!!  Now I'm a moron and only got one color (I wasn't sure I'd be into them so I didn't want to invest in them all) boy was that a mistake!!!  I'll be getting them all!!!!  I only have Coastal Cabana for now, you'll see a lot of Coastal Cabana.  The most wonderful part of these markers is that you don't have to be  an artist, you don't have to know how to watercolor, they blend so easily all you have to do is color!  JUST COLOR!!!  The markers come in a set of 3.  You get a light, medium and dark shade of the color you choose.  Isn't it beautiful!!?!?  I'm loving these markers so so so much!!!!  For this flower I stamped it twice and colored the inside of one and the outside of the other.  I cut each at out and layered them for even more dimension (not to mention the millions of dimensionals I have behind each layer :)
I'm working on some dates for a class to show these markers off.  I promise once you use them, you'll love them!!!  I also have some other new products on this card.  There's two new In Colors on this card, we have Blackberry Bliss and Hello Honey.  I was pretty sure my favorite In Color would be Lost Lagoon, I'm always drawn to the blues, instead, surprisingly, I'm super smitten with these two.  Funny how things work out.  The ribbon is new, in Blackberry Bliss, isn't it yummy!!!  It's so pretty!!!!

Tags In A Bag

I showed you on Friday my beautiful frame from April's Paper Pumpkin.  Today I'm going to share what I made with everything else in the kit.  The kit came with a ton of tags.  I stamped all of them and bundled them together as a gift.  I needed a cute pouch to put them in so here it is.
This stinkin' cute pouch was shown at the Catalog Premier.  It's such a cute size!!  I just used a sheet of DSP from the Fresh Prints Stack.  It's the perfect size.  Score the long side at 1, 1.5, 2, 4, 4.5, and 5.  Turn and score on the bottom at .5.  You'll cut off all but one of the longer tabs on the bottom.  Fold all your lines so that you get a pleated look on the side.  The bottom flap fold up to seal the bottom.  So cute!!!
I stuck the tags inside and also included the roll of linen thread that came in the Paper Pumpkin kit.  I just love this whole project!!!!  The heart and button on the front of the pouch were also included in the Paper Pumpkin kit.  This is the sweets gift!!!
Real quick I have one more thing to show you, you'll have to bear with me as I have a proud Mommy moment.  Yesterday, Logan and I hung out, he hasn't been feeling well all weekend he has a terrible cough and yesterday he had a slight fever too.  He stuck close to me.  We watch some movie's then made some notecards with the Hip Hip Hooray Card Kit for his gifted teacher.  While I was prepping the note cards he was going through all my scraps (he does that all the time).  He found this piece of paper that I was testing my new Blendabilities Markers on and the end of an arrow I had trimmed off from the card kit.  This is what he did, it's the perfect whale tail!!!!  Then he asked me to write his greeting "Sea you in a whale!"  That kid!!!  It's so cute!!!  Just had to share!

April Paper Pumpkin

I'm so impressed with April's Paper Pumpkin project.  I love this sweet gift!!  Paper Pumpkin is the perfect gift for the crafter in your life or just for you!  It's the perfect 30 minute crafting escape that everyone needs!  Crafting is so beneficial on so many levels.  Now it's easier than ever to sign up for Paper Pumpkin, and you can order up to a year in advance!!!  That is one great gift!! To learn more about Paper Pumpkin or to sign up check out the Paper Pumpkin website.  Just make sure to check me as your demonstrator :)
Everything to complete this adorable framed project, including the frame, was included in the kit.  I love the frame, it will be so easy to change out the picture if I want.  Right now it's so super cute!!  Plus I had so many extra tags and embellishments left over.  Check back on Monday to see what I did with all those tags!
There was thing that I did, it wasn't in the instructions :)  The cotton ribbon is beautiful!  But it came folded, so obviously there were some creases that weren't going to look great in that big bow on the front.  So I took the ribbon to the bathroom......hang in there I know it sounds sketchy .....
...That's where my flat iron is.  I guess looking back I could have brought the iron to to the ribbon instead of the other way around but I didn't :)  I just quickly ran the ribbon through the flat iron and the creases were gone! Yay!  Quick and easy!!  Happy Mother's Day weekend to all the Mom's out there!!!

Box Of Cards

I have the most adorable box!  This box is for a special young lady that I know that will be graduating college then joining the Peace Corp and moving to Africa to teach.  While she was gone I thought that she might enjoy some fun cards to keep in touch with family and friends, we'll get to the cards in a minute.  Of course the cards MUST be packaged in an adorable box, it's a requirement.
I finished the cards and was planning on working on the box the next day.  As luck would have it Sam posted this box on her blog that very day.  I wasn't sure if the box would hold the cards, by the way I used Stampin' Up!'s Whisper White Notecards :)  I whipped up a box with some scrap paper really fast just to get the size of it.  THE. CARDS. FIT. PERFECTLY!!!!!
The box is made with the Envelope Punch Board-I LOVE THAT TOOL!!!  Twelve cards and envelopes fit neatly inside!!!  I won't go into details on the box or dimensions, Sam does that on her post, check it out
Now I honestly don't know what rules, requirements or regulations there is for mail coming and going from Africa.  I'm hoping she'll be able to use these.  There are minimal layers and no accessories.  They lay flat and can be mailed easily.  I made four each of the three designs.  This is such a sweet image!
I used the 2013-2015 In Colors, I was using that DSP and wanted to keep the colors all in that group.  I used blender pens and ink pads to color all the images.  I love the stacked birds here!!
I'm not sure which is my favorite, I love them all.  I hope she loves them too!!  Especially this mailbox one.  I like that the unevenness of the coloring, I think it makes the mailbox look ages and worn.
Thanks for looking, see you soon!!!
