Tutorial Tuesday-M&M book

Happy Tuesday! I am so excited today the retired list comes out! Check back later and I'll have it on my blog. The tutorial today is a really quick and easy project. I made about 15 of these for them Mom's group that I belong to. Our group made breakfast for the entire church on Sunday. So these we're a thank you gift for them. They're really easy so lets get started.

You can use any cany you want, I'm using M&M's because I found a really nice Christmas Story that goes along with them. It's at the bottom of this post if you want to see it. To make this project you'll need a 4x12 piece of cardstock-I'm using textured Old Olive. Score the cardstock at 4 and 8. You'll need a punch, I'm using the curly label punch. A small cello bag with your candy, a stapler, ribbon and some accessories to add to your project.

Fold your score lines and start by putting your story (or decorating as you wish) on the left panel.

On the right panel put your punch as far as it will go in the center of the panel, punch.

Flip your paper over and put your punch in as far as it will go again on the other side. Line it up with your first punch and punch again. This creates a window to see your candy through.

Staple the top and bottom of your cello bag onto the center panel of your cardstock.

Flip it over and decorate the front. The front of the book will be the back of the panel with the story on it.

Turn it back over. Using a hobby blade and cutting mat cut 2 slits on the score lines, about one quarter of the way up the cardstock. You'll thread ribbon through these slits. The ribbon will go over the candy and in back of the left and right panels.

Fold the right panel over, then the left.
And tie your ribbon in a knot or bow whichever you prefer.

Here it is again open and done.

The M & M's Christmas Story
by Pam Ridenour
As you hold these candies in your hand, and turn them, you will see...
The M becomes a W, an E, and then a 3.
They tell the Christmas story. It's one I'm sure you know.
It took place in a stable a long, long, time ago.
The E is for the East, where the star shone so bright.
The M is for the Manger, where Baby Jesus slept that night.
The 3 is for the wise men, who came bearing gifts.
W is for Worship. Hallelujah, praise His name!
So as you eat these candies,
or share them with your friends,
remember the meaning of Christmas.
It's a love story that never ends.
Remember to check back later for the retired list!
Thanks for looking see you tomorrow!
